10 best planner apps for Android to plan just about anything

Planning things is always a good idea. You have an idea of what to do, when to do it and how much it costs. Plus, it keeps you on track so you don’t forget anything. There are a ton of planning apps on Android. You can find apps to plan everything from meals to weddings, gardens, budget and even super basic daily planners. There are many options, but we think we can help you narrow them down. Here are the best planner apps for planning just about anything.

Home Planner – Floor Plan Creator

Price: Free / Up to $ 6.99

Floor Plan Creator lets you plan your home room by room. It creates floor plans over multiple floors and you can add furniture by its dimensions so you can see what the space looks like with all your stuff. Additionally, the app comes with 3D mode, S-Pen and mouse support, cloud sync (pro version only), and several other features. It’s a bit difficult to use at first and the app leaves a lot of the learning to the user. However, it worked admirably in our testing and I actually used this to plan a new sofa. Those who have the Google Play Pass can use the premium version of this app for free.

Garden planner – From seed to spoon

Price: Free with in-app purchases

From Seed to Spoon is one of the few gardening apps that isn’t terrible. This contains guides on growing over 100 different plants, integration with Burpee for purchasing seeds, guides on how to control garden pests, and more. There are also guides on where to plant, how to plant, and plan your yield. The developers have turned their entire lawn into a farm, so we think they might know one or two. The app includes in-app purchases and most of them are for seeds and garden tools.

Route planner – Google Maps

Price: Free

Google Maps is a somewhat obvious choice for this. You can find all kinds of businesses along your route, navigate to where you need to go, and that includes niceties like real-time traffic updates. However, the great feature is the support for multiple stops that one would likely need while executing a route. Google Maps supports over 200 countries, and you can download maps for temporary offline use. Another fairly decent, albeit niche, application in this space is Routine.

Study Planner – My Study Life

Price: Free

My Study Life is a great study planner for high school and college students as well as teachers. The app is cross-platform, so you can use it on your phone, tablet, or computer. Plus, it lets you keep track of your assignments and homework, notifications for upcoming things, and some additional tools for teachers. To be honest, it’s not that different from a calendar app. However, these additional university specific tools help differentiate My Study Life from your standard calendar app. The app is also completely free.

Wedding planner – The Knot

Price: Free

The Knot is a great wedding planning app. You can plan the whole wedding in this app. You can track things like flower delivery, caterers, your RSVPs (as well as meal choices), your registry, and even a budgeting feature. There is also a checklist included for smaller things that don’t fit into the other categories. A lot of people use this app to plan entire weddings from A to Z and as far as we can tell it’s completely free. Bride’s book is another great app for this stuff too.

Meal planner – Mealime

Price: Free / $ 5.99 per month / $ 49.99 per year

Mealime is a great meal planner. It sort of covers the whole gamut from start to finish. You not only plan your meals for the week, but the app also includes a cookbook feature to show you how to cook. It supports a variety of diets, including gluten-free, low-carb, lactose intolerant, and meal plans for people with food allergies. It even creates grocery lists for you. There are simply a ton of features here, so it’s no surprise that the app is a bit pricey. For those looking for something simpler but still very functional, SideChef is another great option.

Budget Planner – Mint

Price: Free

Mint is one of the biggest and most popular budget planning apps. It does everything a budget planner does. You enter your income, pull out your invoices and see how much you have left. Plus, the app gives you access to your credit score and other tools to help with your finances. The app is pretty easy to use and comes from Intuit, the same company that makes TurboTax. So you don’t go to bed with just any old company. Good budget is another decent app in this space.

Daily and Comprehensive Planner – TickTick

Price: Free / $ 27.99 per year

TickTick is a great app for everyday use. It’s a to-do list app and it’s technically for this use case. However, you can easily manage your daily tasks and there is a built-in, streamlined calendar if you need something like that as well. The app works as you might expect. You create an event or task, give it a due date, add additional details, and set one or two reminders. The app takes care of the rest from there. It’s simple, it works well, and the free version is more than powerful enough for most people. If you want something a little simpler, TimeTune is more traditional and, if you want something out of the ordinary, sectographer is pretty cool.

Trip planner – TripIt

Price: Free

We mentioned Google Maps as a good road travel app. However, TripIt is probably better for travelers. This is how it works. You book everything you need to book and import it into the app where you can manage it further. Moreover, you can share this information with other people if you are not traveling alone and it works offline. You can also create multiple travel events so that you are not limited to one travel event at a time.

Wardrobe Planner – Your Wardrobe

Price: Free

Your Closet is a pretty decent closet planner. You take pictures of all your clothes and then you can select your outfits by looking at what you have in them. It works with tops, bottoms, shoes, handbags, and other accessories. Space is unlimited (only by storing your phone) so you can add whatever you have in your wardrobe. Plus, there are some editing tools to make sure the photos look good. This one also works with travel as you can pack with the app and it knows what you have brought. Finally, our favorite feature is statistics. You can easily see what you wear the most and the least often. So when it comes time to donate the old clothes to charity, you know which ones you’re not wearing.
