Apple has quietly updated the charging washer for the Apple Watch Series 7

The Apple Watch Series 7 features very minor design changes, with Apple having slightly enlarged faces compared to the previous generation. However, it turns out that Apple has also updated the Apple Watch charging washer because according to YouTuber. iMatteo, it looks like the new Apple Watch comes with an aluminum washer.

For those who own an Apple Watch, you are probably familiar with the plastic magnetic washer that Apple provides for charging the Apple Watch. There is nothing wrong with this washer since for the most part it sits on your desk or in a holder, but it looks like the Series 7 comes with an updated design where the washer is now made of. aluminum, not plastic.

Plus, it looks like Apple made the puck USB-C compatible instead of USB-A like with previous generations. This means that users who do not yet have a USB-C charger will need to purchase one to make it work with the charging washer. Since Apple doesn’t include a charging brick, you’ll have to purchase one yourself.

However, the upside is that by switching to USB-C, the 7 Series will actually be able to charge faster than its predecessor, where it can hit 80% battery power with just over 45 minutes of charge.
