Bose’s new SoundLink Flex speaker is durable and water resistant

Being able to lounge in your pool during the summer with a nice cold drink is a great way to relax. Having some great looking pieces in the background is just the icing on the cake. If you’re looking for a speaker set that you can take with you to the beach or pool, the new SoundLink Flex from Bose might be of interest to you.

The company launched the speaker and positioned it as a rugged set of portable speakers. It features the use of a silicone back and a powder coated steel grille that the company says will help protect it from bumps and drops. It even has a IP67 rating that makes it water resistant, and Bose even claims that the speakers will float if they fall in water.

However, the IP67 rating means it isn’t supposed to float in the pool by your side while you relax. The company also boasts that the speaker was designed to be UV light resistant, so it won’t peel or chip if you leave it outside.

The speakers also feature a custom transducer that will supposedly deliver “bass you can feel right in your chest” as well as superior audio clarity, and the use of Bose’s digital signal processor will help minimize distortion. The speakers have Bluetooth connectivity and can connect to up to eight devices and have a battery life of approximately 12 hours. It is priced at $ 149 and is available to order through the Bose website.
