Early Saturday night, CNN and boss Jeff Zucker fired longtime CNN host Chris cuomo “Immediate entry into force” after a more than a year without ethics behavior of both parties as Cuomo worked with and gave softball interviews to his scandalized former governor brother Andrew Cuomo (D-NY).
CNN said in a statement that Cuomo had been “Finished … with immediate effect” four days after he had been suspended due to treasure chest of text messages showing the depths of her relationship with her brother’s key associates to overcome the sexual harassment allegations made against Andrew. They added that the investigation by “a respected law firm” revealed “Additional information.”
Importantly, this statement revealed that they had indeed hired someone to examine Cuomo’s behavior. But more importantly, the network wouldn’t detail this damning new information, so time will tell if Zucker shares said “information” or just move on as if the fall of his friend and now ex-employee never happened.
This is in addition to the fact that they still proclaim themselves the “most trusted name in the news” and “Facts first”.
The statement ended with a claim that “[d]despite termination, we will investigate if necessary.
Joining the likes of Dan Rather and Brian Williams in losing a favorite job in a big network, Cuomo still maintains a show on SiriusXM called Let’s go after (at least since the publication of this blog).
Incredibly, CNN almost immediately broke the news to viewers after CNN Public Relations tweeted at 5:09 p.m. and unlike their delay when Fredo was suspended on Tuesday.
Even more ironic? Look who the person was on the air at 5:22 p.m. EST when he fell:
#RUPTURE: I’m not making it up – Jim Acosta was on the air when CNN announced they had fired Chris Cuomo, leaving him to break the news to viewers alongside Brian Stelter

As for what’s missing, CNN has not revealed why it was so necessary to suddenly fire Cuomo at a time when many media outlets believed his abuse of sources and known breaches of journalistic ethics were already enough to justify his firing. .
In previous days, the network’s chief media apologist Brian Stelter had claimed Cuomo would air as early as January.
And on top of the new evidence, it shows just how much of a liar he has been. It was only now that he was lying to his viewers about his involvement in the defense of his brother, but also of his employers. Again, it’ll be worth watching to see what SiriusXM determines about the fate of its POTUS show.
With Cuomo gone, what should poor Don Lemon do? Based on her interaction with him during what became Fredo’s last show on Monday, even Lemon seemed to have thought they were curtains for his dear friend.
