President Biden announced that his administration would look into potentially illegal activities keeping gas prices high.
Biden targets high gas prices
Video:
Recently we have considering the price all companies pay for a barrel of oil started to fall. The price of gasoline pump for more Americans does not have. It’s not that you would expect a competitive market. I want to make sure that nothing obstructs all prices decrease leading to lower prices for consumers.
Today my director of the NNational Economic Council a asked Federal President TRating Commission to use each tool available to monitor the United States gasoline market to be addressed any illegal conduct that could contribute to the prize increases at the pump while the the price of a barrel of oil goes down. It was also clearly indicated to OPEC that production cuts should be inverted as a global or as a the global economy is recovering lower prices for consumers.
Big Oil attempted this same stunt under Obama
Biden was right to question the potential for illegal activity in the oil market. In 2011, when gas prices were out of step with market behavior, Obama announced an investigation, and as if by magic, gas prices fell.
Big Oil will try to raise prices where and when they can, and unless there is a sitting president, like Biden now, who is unwilling to look away, they will often get away with it. .
President Biden works for the American people, not for corporations, so Big Oil has just been warned, and we’ll see if recent history is repeating itself and gas prices are falling.
