This leopard can change its spots (frequency)

MSI’s new Leopard gaming laptops feature your choice of multiple Comet Lake Core i7 processors, NVIDIA RTX 30 series GPU, Cooler Boost 5, 17 ″ 144Hz refresh rate display, SteelSeries RGB keyboard and even choices of IO port configurations. The model tested by TechPowerUp contains a Core i7-10750H, an RTX 3070, a pair of 8GB DDR4-2933 DIMMs and a 1TB WD 760P NVMe SSD. Their GP76 Leopard’s connectivity included HDMI 2.0, a single USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C and three USB 3.2 Gen 1. Networking on the laptop includes Ethernet, Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 and Bluetooth 5.1.

The components will give you more than reasonable gaming performance at 1080p, and you’ll be able to use that 144Hz refresh rate. The trick the GP76 Leopard can do, thanks to MSI Dragon Center. There is an option in the software to disable the integrated HD Graphics 630 so that only the RTX 3070 is used to drive your display. This increases the power input somewhat, but also improves performance. Moreover, you can also overclock the GPU and memory, in the case of the TPU they easily boosted both 200MHz and let’s say even better gaming performance.

Even better; “the fan noise with overclock was relatively the same as with the stock system.
