Earlier this year, Razer unveiled Project Hazel, a plan to create a futuristic mask, which makes perfect sense in the current climate we’re living in with the pandemic and everything. While it was initially a concept, Razer plans confirmed to make this a reality and the good news is if you want to beta test it, you can sign up.
The device, which has been officially named Zephyr, is open for community beta testing and those who wish can register through the Razer website. Of course, there is no guarantee that you will be selected if you register, but you can always try your luck.
Project Hazel is now officially Razer Zephyr, the latest evolution of our portable air purifier. Designed to be safe, social and durable, Razer Zephyr features 99% BFE, a secure silicone face seal, and an anti-fog coating. For those unfamiliar with it, the Zephyr was designed to be a reusable face mask compared to the surgical masks we use which are disposable. As well as being reusable, it will come with features like 99% BFE, a silicone gasket that will ensure a tighter fit, a clear mouthpiece with anti-fog coating and RGB lights.
Given that we may have to live in a future where COVID-19 is treated as endemic, it may not be a bad idea to invest in a good quality mask. It’s unclear how much the Zephyr will ultimately cost, but the company is expected to launch it in the fourth quarter 2021, so we should have more details then.
