So, one of the main things we’ve been looking forward to in Apple’s MacBook Pro refresh rumor is the new 14in form factor that will be announced alongside the 16in model. There is also the redesign that we anticipate, as well as the M1X chipset which should be more powerful.
However, it turns out that there might be one more thing to look forward to and that is new displays. According to a tweet from DCSS CEO Ross Young, he claims that upcoming MacBook Pro refreshes will see Apple introduce the use of mini LED screens on laptops as well as a 120Hz refresh rate.
Yes, the new 14 “and 16” MacBook Pros will have miniLEDs and we believe they will be refreshed to 120Hz as well.

The use of mini LEDs debuted with the iPad Pro earlier this year and it is currently the only Apple product to use display technology. Apple also extended its 120 Hz ProMotion screen to the iPhone 13, but now it looks like the MacBook Pros could get it as well. It’s actually pretty cool if the rumors are true, as there aren’t many laptops that offer refresh rates above the 60Hz standard.
Of course, none of this can be confirmed yet, but what Apple has confirmed is that they will be hosting an event. October 18 where presumably these laptops will be announced, so be sure to check back with us next week for all the official details.
