From the start of Wednesday The ReidOut, MSNBC host Joy reid resurrected a truly poisoned claim September 15 that not only the tens of millions of center-right Americans “love” Covid, but they idolize it to the point of wanting to consume it as “cereal” while inflicting mass murder.
And that was on top of what has become a dangerous narrative that Tories and Republicans shouldn’t be allowed to have the agency because they would otherwise use their “Foam in the mouth a mark of conservatism” take power. Of course, Reid has had a lot of help and no reluctance, including from principled Conservative Tim Miller, who agreed that the Conservatives are indeed homicidal sociopaths.
Reid started off with this shtick on the right, which appeared to be a combination of leading viewers hiding under their sheets at night and wanting to twist someone’s throat (click “expand”):
We start The ReidOut with a renewed effort from the U.S. right to ensure Covid is here to stay. First, they came for the schools. Now it’s the business. An astonishing 180 for the party that once claimed it stood for limited government, free enterprise, and the protection of American businesses from cumbersome regulation. These days, the former Grand Ol ‘Party stands for nothing but the quest for absolute power, which they intend to achieve by embracing a mouth-foaming brand of conservatism that includes worshiping the disgraced former president, dismantling democracy and forcing businesses – forcing them to operate on their terms, which includes opening doors to the pandemic, the worst of which is associating the killer virus with freedom itself. They also launched a new national hobby where anti-vaccines and anti-masks can congregate and yell at, spit at, and attack workers who have to mask themselves to work. When not harassing teachers and healthcare professionals or mothers who accompany their children to school to mask themselves in order to prevent Covid, a life needs variation.
And now we have the governor of the abortion bounty hunt, Greg Abbott of Texas, banning any entity in his state, including private companies, from requiring Covid vaccination for their workers or clients. He denounces vaccine mandates as federal out of reach as his Covid loving side kicks Florida Governor Ron DeSantis through to his promise to punish local governments for taking action to protect workers because Covid must be allowed to enter.
Reid then leveled an attack below the belt when she seemed to trumpet the death of Bill Montgomery, co-founder of Turning Point USA of Covid last year, posting his passing in light of a tweet from Charlie Kirk about the pandemic.
After a bizarre aside, Donald Trump Jr. “Don’t care about blacks”, Reid unleashed his demented claim on the right to have a Covid fetish:
I … searched for rationality in the idea of embracing Covid as a thing and saying Covid is king, let it in, leave it in your business, leave it in your schools, give it away to your children with their breakfast cereals. Covid, Covid, Covid, right? This love of Covid makes no sense to me except that they also want to market cures for Covid, right?
Miller explained that opposition to the Covid vaccine and vaccine mandates is rooted in “simple counter-arism, anti-elitism” and rampant “populism”, but he was only beginning by illustrating his inability to be ashamed when he then argued that, “if this [belief in contrarianism] means letting their own citizens die needlessly ”, elected officials with an R next to their name “Let their own citizens die”.
Citing Abbott as one of those mass murderers, Miller ironically denounced the law as having engaged in “unreasonable” behavior that is obsessed with ” positioning ” and “Negative partisanship[.]”
Talk about not seeing people he disagrees with as human beings.
Another progressive strategist Don Calloway endorsed, lashing out at GOP “Has so – so – adopted anti-intellectualism so aggressively that they don’t consider it inconsistent to say it – to adopt the abortion ban in Texas… and don’t no problem with the inconsistency between this and the rabies against people who don’t want to get vaccinated[.]”
Although she said enough inflammatory things for one night, Reid referred to Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) in the context of Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving refusing to get a coronavirus shot to claim that Cruz has a deep aversion to blacks:
These folks are Harvard, Yale, Princeton – they’re – they’re rich Ivy League guys like, “I’m on the common man’s side. All right, Ted Cruz. if Ted Cruz saw Kyrie Irving in his neighborhood, he would call the police on him. He would be like, “you are in the wrong neighborhood.” 911. He would call the cops on him. It’s the truth, okay?
Reid later reiterated his cockamamie statement, adding that Cruz would be unhappy if Irving stayed on the sidelines and didn’t work because, according to Reid’s reading of Cruz, the Texas Senator views unemployed blacks as heavy and lazy. .
And not to be outdone, Miller returned to his talking point that Abbott was a murderer because he predicted a nursing home scandal would take hold (click ‘expand’):
Look, I mean, look at this, I wanna go even lower than that. Think if you are a nursing home – right – and if you are a nursing home in Texas and you have a lot, you know, obviously, old people who can be vaccinated, but they – they have comorbidities. They have other reasons that they – they, you know, might have groundbreaking cases, you – I think anybody who has their mother, aunt, uncle, or grandparents in a nursing home would want that. this place has a vaccination warrant, doesn’t it? Like, who wouldn’t want that?
In Texas, Greg Abbott banned nursing homes from having a warrant for vaccination, so you could bring in an unvaccinated nurse and there is nothing you can do legally in the state. It is absolute madness.
To be clear, there was no mention of former Governor Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) and the Empire State’s deadly nursing home scandal. But with his side to protect, Republicans in Team Biden must find a way to change the narrative.
Reid’s latest acts of hate insisting over 70 million Americans on good Covid love were made possible through the voluntary endorsement of advertisers such as Bmw, Farmers insurance, and Gold bond. Follow the links to see their contact details on the RCN Conservative Counterattack page.
