We’ve seen many instances where a company’s social network has tweeted something that looks like a response from a personal account. It’s human to be wrong and forget to switch accounts when you tweet.
A concept from Lena Emara, product designer at Twitter, will hopefully stop you from doing that. Here’s how it works: When you tweet, the app will show you the account the tweet is coming from, at the top of the compose window.
So just in case you tweet something personal from a brand’s account, you may notice it right away and make changes accordingly. Scroll down to the ‘Account breadcrumbs’ portion of Emara’s tweet below for a closer look at her concept.
Account breadcrumbs
Do you have multiple accounts? I want to make it easy for you to know which account you’re tweeting from.
Switching accounts today is feasible but not easy. This makes things clearer and puts your avatar, name, ID, and privacy status in one visible place. pic.twitter.com/GjatDtMG0q

Apart from that, Emara also introduced other concepts related to privacy. The first describes how you can limit who can see your tweets, who can tag you in photos, and who can send you a direct message. Notably, one of the company’s designers recently demonstrated another concept that allows you to tweet to a close circle of friends.
Discover me (or not)
Right now, you can control how others find you using your phone or email. This concept allows you:
1️⃣ Receive a notification if accounts search for your username
2️⃣ Choose if you want to be found this way
3️⃣ Set a time limit(ID in responses) pic.twitter.com/zrHORC4Eiu

The second concept was about limiting discoverability, where you can turn off the toggles for a while. that removes your profile from search and “Who to Follow” recommendations.
These are practical concepts, but there is no guarantee that Twitter will use its resources to develop them. Lately the company tweeted theseNotions to gather feedback on how it can improve the conversation on the platform.
