Veterans organization VoteVets backed Democratic gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe after his Republican opponent from Virginia pledged allegiance to a flag carried during the attack on Capitol Hill.
Vote Vets tweeted their approval:
Last night GOP VA Gov candidate Glenn Youngkin declared the “pledge of allegiance” to a flag that was carried during the January 6 uprising.

Republican candidates like Youngkin don’t even try to hide behind some semblance of patriotism. They openly court and show their support for national terrorists.
Washington DC’s pundit class spends their time projecting national significance into Virginia’s gubernatorial race, but there’s something more fundamental at play. A vote for Glenn Youngkin or any other Republican in 2021 or 2022 is a vote against democracy and a vote in favor of domestic terrorism.
Any candidate who pledges allegiance to a flag that was carried in the murderous attack on Capitol Hill is unworthy of being a governor and declares his threat to democracy.
The 2021 and 2022 elections are not the year of deadlock and midterm contests. Democracy is on the ballot, and if voters don’t come forward to defend it, they will lose it.
