Fox Business host Charles Payne blamed soaring energy prices at the feet of President Joe Biden’s “war” on fossil fuels.
Fox News Presenter John roberts called Biden’s “inherent contradiction” begging the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) international oil cartel to pump more oil while “stifling domestic oil production.” Roberts, during Thursday Reports from America, hinted at how Biden was who passed the male and suggesting higher prices are due to anti-competitive behavior of the market.
Payne questioned Biden’s strategy: “Are you against oil in general – you know, I think he keeps saying that fossil fuels are the main reason for climate change, climate change from human origin – [or] are you, are you against Americans making money on oil, providing solid jobs, national security? You know, which one is it?
Payne continued: “[I]n the same day as [Biden] index[s] sort of, something infamous is going on in the American oil complex, “says Biden,” ‘OPEC, we need you to pump more!‘He accused Biden of running his 2020 presidential campaign on a platform of’ war ‘with fossil fuels.
Payne tore apart Biden’s absurd call for foreign oil while decimating American oil:
So we’re talking about taking American dollars – billions of dollars – shipping them to Saudi Arabia instead of keeping them here, creating our own jobs, creating our own opportunities. It’s just, it amazes me. It really is. It is so absurd, but it is also damaging.
Roberts pointed out that “nobody” had talked a lot about OPEC over the past year because “we didn’t really need them. Now apparently we are. Payne responded by saying, “We wouldn’t need it if there hadn’t been a war on fossil fuels.”
He also noted that “[w]We have become so close to energy independence. We have become a dominant player across the space. President Biden ran onto the platform to go to war with fossil fuels. West Texas Intermediate oil, “a week ago, cost $ 75 a barrel” versus “$ 35 a barrel” on Nov. 2, 2020, according to Payne. “This is what happens when you tell these industries that they cannot drill on federal lands. This is [what] happens when you cause war when they can’t even go to Wall Street to raise money for large-scale projects. You start to interfere with the supply.
Payne explained how Biden’s policies caused inflation:
So the demand is increasing. We can’t get [oil], even if it’s right under our feet. And we have to go to somebody else – to another organization in another country – and say, “Hey, we’ll be shipping billions of US dollars if you produce more oil.‘Again, it’s so backwards, and it’s so defeatist.
